A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Owen Arnold Hewan-Lowe 82, of Palm Coast will be celebrated Time and Date To Be Announced at Palm Coast United Methodist Church 5200 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast.
Owen passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on October 15, 1926 to the late Arnold and Mabel Hewan-Lowe (Gordon) in Jamaica, West Indies. Owen owned a banana plantation for many years at Burkes' s Mountain in St. James, Jamaica.
In 2001 he and his wife moved to the Palm Coast area from New York. In his free time he enjoyed playing the piano, sketching and listening to jazz music. During his retirement years he loved to cook and bake, his specialty being Jamaican Fruit Cake.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Phoebe; brother, Donald Hewan-Lowe of Jamaica; sisters, Phyllis Valere of Canada, Dorothy Hewan-Lowe of New York, Desna Brown of Miami, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the trust and care of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
